These photos are of my friend Heather wearing my grandmother's clothes in her home right before it was sold. My grandmother had deep love for her home and loved beautiful clothes.
I could have hired a model for this shoot, but Heather had a genuine affection for my grandmother's clothing and wore them effortlessly. In my mind, these two attributes is the essence of fashion.
Thor's been living on Plum Island for a long time. He's sailed the word, had a few lovers, and collected lots of great stuff along the way. Now he's settled down a bit. He enjoys gardening with his wife and selling antique rugs.
When I'm in Thor's house I sometimes have to remind myself that I'm in a house fastened to a piece of land and not on a boat on its way to another adventure.
I was a teacher in Lawrence, MA for 5 years. During this time I had the privilege of becoming friends with kids who faced untiring challenges with amazing levels of confidence and grace.
How We are Caught
How We are Caught is a twenty year project about a woman from Haverhill, Massachusetts named Paulette Brooks. The levels of trust, awareness, and collaboration that made this project meaningful and impactful are the foundation for everything I do.
